About
The longer version
Biochemist by training, sequencing person by trade, tinkerer by temperament.
I studied Biochemistry and Cell Biology at UC San Diego, did a research internship at Scripps Health, and in 2018 joined Ultima Genomics as a research associate. Eight years later I'm an associate director in sequencing operations, still working on the same goal: making it cheaper and faster to read DNA.
I've always liked technology. I learned JavaScript in high school and C++ in community college, then mostly stopped coding until work pulled me back in with Python. These days I'm learning again on purpose: a Godot game, Python projects, and this website, built with my brother.
The rest of my free time goes to the 3D printer and assorted hardware, to anime and games, and to helping with our family winery in Georgia.
